“We wanna use The Hub as our Client Management System, but we don’t want to have to set up billing first. Can’t we just add clients directly to The Hub?”
Good news, now you can! We listened to your feedback and realized that yeah, you shouldn’t have to go through all the hullabaloo of setting up a Stripe billing connection just to add a client to The Hub.
So, Clients and Billing are officially breaking up and will be standalone features! We gave the UX a makeover and now The Hub is your ultimate central dashboard for keeping all your clients’ data in one place.
Add clients, link them to websites, domains or pro emails, or give them access to your white-labeled portal (or not!). It’s all up to you.
Here’s what we’ve changed:
Access all client tools without billing clients through our system
We get it. You don’t necessarily want to use Client Billing just to keep client records or provide portal access. So, these features have undergone a conscious uncoupling and now they are happily separated.
Now you can use The Hub as your CRM, right off the bat. Of course, you can still use the Billing feature to invoice your clients from The Hub, whenever you need to.
How to use it:
- Open the Hub and go to Client Tools → Clients
- Click Add Client and enter name and email
- The profile is created and ready to link products or invite to the portal

Link products directly from a client profile
Having trouble untangling which websites, domains and pro-email accounts are linked to which client?
Each client profile now includes product widgets that let you link websites, domains, and pro email accounts to that client with a few clicks. Linking works both ways, so product pages also show the assigned client.
This gives you an instant overview of what a client owns and makes management faster by reducing cross-referencing and duplicate work.
How to use it:
- Open a client profile
- Select the Sites, Domains, or Pro Email widget
- Choose the items you want to link

Find and sort clients with powerful filters
Got a TON of clients? Wow… look at you go! Nice problem to have, eh?
To make large client portfolios more manageable, we added powerful client filters within sites, domains, and pro email lists. Select a client and instantly view only their linked assets.
Filters also work alongside labels and sorting controls.
How to use it:
- Open Sites, Domains, or Pro Email
- Use the client filter to select a client
- Apply additional labels to refine results

Client portal invites and white label workflow
You can now invite clients to the white labeled portal directly from their profile without any billing configuration. This makes onboarding smoother and lets you provide site access or support without creating invoices first.
In other words, you can look like an absolute pro, right away.
Hub settings also include clearer white label guidance so resellers can brand the portal quickly.
How to use it:
- Configure branding in Client Tools → Settings
- Open a client profile
- Select client role and primary client portal
- Click Invite

Use Tickets without client billing
Tickets, our client support feature, makes it easier for you to help your clients whenever they need your dev skills to save the day.
Premium plan users can now use Tickets without having to set up Client Billing first. You can simply add clients, create tickets on their behalf, or give them portal access so they can create tickets themselves.
The ticket workflow otherwise remains the same.

Centralized client tools navigation and settings
We’ve also done a major renovation on the UX of this part of The Hub, so let’s take a tour of what’s new:
- Navigation and onboarding is now super-simple and lightning-quick.
- All client-related features are now grouped under a single Client Tools menu, instead of under Client Billing. (Makes sense, right?)
- Settings for branding, custom fields, client rules, reseller and ticket preferences are consolidated into one place for simpler setup and onboarding.
How to use it:
- Open Client Tools in the main navigation
- Visit Settings to configure branding, notifications, client rules, and custom fields

Client profile widgets and product views
We’ve transformed Client Profiles into snazzy dashboards that give you a complete view of each client. Widgets can display site counts, domain summaries, pro email accounts, recent invoices, custom fields, and notes, with quick actions for management.
How to use it:
- Open a client profile
- Review the widgets and use quick links to manage sites, domains, or email accounts directly

Redesigned client roles and permissions
Handling your client roles and permissions is also a brand new experience, and it’s much easier to control exactly who can do what.
You can now:
- Add role descriptions
- Duplicate custom roles
- Collapse and expand permission groups
- Set a default role for quicker assignment
This makes it simple to standardize onboarding, automate client handling, and track key attributes like billing IDs, contract dates, or technical contacts. You can build reusable templates for different client types, then duplicate and adjust as needed. Efficiency for the win, right?
How to use it:
- Open Client Tools → Settings → Client Roles
- Create a new role or duplicate an existing one
- Add a description and save
- Assign roles directly on a client profile

And finally, a refreshed look for client billing
Now that Client Billing is free to be its own thing, we’ve given it a glow-up too!
We’ve improved the UI for the billing overview and invoices to match the new widget layout and make billing even simpler. Otherwise, the billing process itself remains the same.

A more complete client hub
Like an overly needy ex, Client Profiles and Billing didn’t need to be together, they were just clinging on for old time’s sake.
Now that we’ve set them free, they can do a LOT more on their own.
With Clients now fully standalone, the Hub is now your all-in-one site and client management system. You can track clients, link their assets, manage permissions, provide support, and invite them to a branded portal, all without tying it to billing or using separate software.
Here’s to having more freedom to run your business in a way that works for you!
