Congratulations to Grafx Design of Tampa, 2015 Silver ADDY Award Winner for Interface & Navigation! The award was given for The Living Desert website, which went live in 2014. Although inexplicably omitted from the credits for the award, Rob Stainback fully designed and coded the website for Grafx Design of Tampa before leaving to create BytePlate Brand LLC.
BytePlate Brand would also like to congratulate all those individuals who were involved with the creation of The Living Desert website at Grafx Design of Tampa: Spyro Marousis – Senior Creative Director and Account Manager, Rob Stainback – Creative Director, Susanna Redfield – Art Director, Nick Bobak – Software Engineer, and Brittany McCauley – Account Executive.
After initial designs, Creative Director, Rob Stainback, and Senior Creative Director, Spyro Marousis, flew to Palm Desert, California, to visit The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. They met with Kerry Graves, Director of Park Services, and the rest of the Living Desert team to tour the zoo as well as iron out website details. Based on the tour and meeting, Rob further developed the design and provided a custom-coded WordPress website. The new design was built to appeal to a younger audience as well as make it easy to find more information about all of the exhibits, shows and events that the zoo had become famous for.
After initial content for the site was added by Rob, he left Grafx to start BytePlate Brand. Susanna Redfield, Art Director at Grafx, took over finishing the site content and preparing for the site to go live. Additional back-end functionality to handle donations was provided by Nick Bobak, Software Engineer. Through a later partnership with BytePlate Brand, Rob also added a simple interactive piece called Pin the Tail on the Jag.
